Everyone calm down. All the talk about H1N1, also known as the Swine Flu, being spread around Shorter is indeed a rumor. Mary Shotwell-Smith, director of Health Services, has confirmed there are no officially reported cases presented at this time.

"I hope people will stop using swine flu as a catch phrase, because if they keep using it for everything then people wont take it seriously and it needs to be taken seriously," said Shotwell-Smith.

The body of an 18-year-old white male was found dead on arrival Tuesday at the Guerry apartments near the corner of Douglas Street and MLK Boulevard.

The male was not a UTC student and the cause of death is being determined, an official with the Chattanooga Police Department said.

Two pieces of legislation that have the potential to change campus life in Georgia are currently being worked on in the Georgia Legislature. House Bill 615, put forth by Rep. Tim Bearden (R Villa Rica), and "Georgia's Common Sense Lawful Carry Act," proposed by Senate Majority Whip Mitch Seabaugh (R Coweta County), could make it legal for students and faculty to carry handguns on campus.

Lundy was born and raised in the "Skydiving Capital of the South," also known as Cedartown, Ga.
